Killer Fang Falls

Location

Killer Fang Falls: 39.3532 N, 120.6994 W

USGS Topo: Blue Canyon

Directions

From CA-20 turn north onto Washington Road (~13.8 miles west of I-80) and follow it for ~5.9 miles through the town of Washington. Then, just before the road crosses over the South Yuba River it turns into Maybert Road. Follow the Maybert Road for ~5.4 miles (can be rough in some places, 4x4 recommended) to near the remains of Jolly Boys Mine off the south side of the road. Park here (last place to easily turn around) and walk the road to its end (~0.4 miles). Then turn left and walk up the exposed rock face up to the trail (turn right). Follow the trail for ~0.3 miles before turning right off the trail (where the trail is in the open between stands of trees) and making your way down towards the river. Once you are close to the river, make your way upstream until you can see the waterfall. From the viewpoint that I found (big boulder) you should be able to see Fall Creek tumbling into the river to your left. I'm not sure how easy this access will be later in the spring or when flows in the river are higher.
