Location

This is a nice secluded waterfall on the otherwise populated North Table Mountain. Lower Ravine Falls is, you guessed it, downstream of Ravine Falls and Ravine Twin Falls. There is a nice little meadow immediately upstream of the plunge and you can find treefrogs and California newts hanging out in the creek upstream of the waterfall. Be on the lookout for ticks and poison oak (especially on the south side of the creek).

Directions

Start from the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve Trailhead (details here) and walk to the northwest toward Ravine and Ravine Twin Falls. Just north of Ravine Twin Falls turn west to follow some use-trails for a little while to the finger south of Coal Canyon. In as little as ~1.65 miles from the trailhead (if you travel in straight lines) you should come upon the use-trail that leads down to the waterfall. This junction is near 39.60512 N, 121.56735 W, where two use-trails split from each other (there's a metal fence post between them). Follow the left trail as it heads southwest and then downhill. The viewpoint for the waterfall can be reached in as little as ~1.95 miles from the trailhead.
