Montgomery Creek Falls

Shasta County, California

Description

This is another decent waterfall located on the edge of Montgomery Creek, CA. The upper tier is shorter but wider and the lower tier is higher and much narrower. The lower tier is more interesting and exists in a narrow slot canyon. A very steep walk along a trail will bring you to the base of the lower tier. Be careful not to get too close to the edge of the slot canyon near the road.

Directions

There are two tiers of this waterfall with the bigger lower one being immediately downstream of the bridge (Montgomery Falls Rd) over the creek and the smaller upper one being immediately upstream of the bridge. The turn for this road (to the west) is just south of the main portion of the town of Montgomery Creek off of CA-299. The bridge is ~0.1 miles from CA-299. I parked on the western side of the bridge and walked down to the bottom of the waterfall (very steep, travel at your own risk).
