Making Easy Vegan Swedish Meatballs at Home
We love the Ikea Vegan Meatballs but we now live on the other side of the country to Ikea so we had to replicate this tasty dish at home, yes you can make your meatballs but with the tasty, ready-made version in Lidl, and from Green Cusine why would you on a busy night?
The tasty part of this is the sauce on the meatballs and serving it with a Tasty Mash and Green Vegetables of your choice.
If you can't get Lingonberry from Ikea you can serve it with Cranberry sauce which will work
Ingredients for 4
4 large or 8 Medium potatoes
2 Packet of Lidl Meatballs
Bisto Chicken Gravy Granules - yes they are Vegan
2 tsp Yellow Mustard
1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
Vegan Cream ( optional ) - Alpro single cream is available in lots of Supermarkets
1 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper to Taste
Flora for the potatoes
Little bit of Oil
The How to Bit
Peel and quarter your potatoes and place in a pot to boil with a pinch of salt
When your Potatoes are nearly ready place the Lidl Vegan Meatballs into a pan with a little oil and brown, they don't take long to cook.
Make the sauce in a jug - make up the Gravy Granules with boiling water, and mix in the Mustard, Nutritional Yeast, and Garlic powder. You can add a little Vegan Cream if you like a creamier sauce
Mash your potatoes with Flora and a dash of Vegan Cream
Serve with Lingonberry sauce and small Garden Peas for a really Ikea experience
