Post date: Jul 16, 2018 2:01:20 PM

Bridestowe cruised to victory over Cornwood by 6-wickets.

Returning from a 4-week injury break, captain Chris Lavis (1-16), kept things tight with the new ball along with Tom Boother (1-30). Alex Jopling (2-38) spun through the rest of the top order before Ewan Grewal (84) launched a counter attack, hitting 9 fours and 5 sixes. Grewal had some support from Josh Goodliffe (27), with whom he put on 64, but Cornwood never really recovered from their slow start. Ryan Dennis (3-28) took two wickets in the final over as Cornwood finished on 197-8.

Runs flowed early in the Bridestowe chase, but they also lost regular wickets and at 63-3 the game was in the balance. Mark Fogerty (15) and Gary Sizmur (54 no) put on 46 to rebuild the innings and put Bridestowe back in control. A brutal 22-ball innings from Brandon Horn (58 no), including 4 fours and 6 sixes, quickly finished the game as a contest. Bridestowe got home with 6-wickets and more than 10 overs remaining.
