The great start to the season continued for the 20/20 1st team as they comfortably defeated moorland rivals Whitchurch Wayfarers. Whitchurch got off to a slow start before some explosive hitting from both Barriball brothers took them to a competitive 153-5. The pick of our bowlers was Sam Ewen who picked up 3 valuable wickets to slow the run rate towards the end of the innings, with Gary Sizmur picking up the vital wicket of Billy Barribal, bowled for 73 . Our chase got off to a great start through Gary and Sam, who were going at above 10 an over before Sam was dismissed. After Sam was out, the rate slowed but Gary was well supported by cameos from Jack Hatton, Charlie Ewen, and Tom Fog, who hit consecutive boundaries to win the game with 10 balls to spare. Gary anchored the chase brilliantly with a composed 63n.o. with most of the big shots coming from the other end. The win means that the 1s are still unbeaten and are ahead of Lewdown by 2 points (1 win) though they have a game in hand. The 1s have no game next week and their next game being Lewdown at home, in a game which is likely to determine who ends up with the division 1 trophy!

The 2s were well beaten by a strong Sticklepath side at home. The visitors set an imposing 180 to win thanks to a fine innings from Jack Hayman. Despite a brutal 51 from Saturday skipper Mark Butler, the 2s fell around 50 runs short. The 2s will look to bounce back as they travel to Launceston next week. With a few wins and a couple of losses, the 2s are currently mid-table and will look to push on in the second half of the season.

In the semi-final of the division 2 (Colin Kirby) knock-out cup on Thursday , the 2s opposition Lydford were unable to raise a side, but the league has decided that the fixture will be replayed at a later date.
