Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough CC 1XI vs Bridestowe CC 1XI - 12th August 2017

Bridestowe kept up the pressure on the top two in C West with a 52-run win over Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough.

Bridestowe lost the toss and found themselves batting on another wet pitch. Gary Sizmur (101) and Ryan Dennis (32) steadied the innings after a shaky start. Dan Fogerty (22) and Pat Ewen (16) stuck with Sizmur for him to reach his second century of the season - another fantastic knock. The rest of the innings fell away as the visitors were bowled out for 233. James Sharp (2-26) Keith Dann (2-37) picked up early wickets and Carl Hansen (5-39) had five of his own as the Bridestowe batsmen looked to up the pace.

PCS&R got off to a slow start as Chris Lavis (1-26) and Ryan Dennis (2-9) bowled accurate opening spells. Some big hits from Dan Windsor (76) and Ben Wilkinson (43) had Bridestowe worried for a period but Alex Jopling (3-54) removed them both. Keeper Pat Ewen (2-26) turned his arm over to good effect to finish off the game, PCS&R finishing on 181ao.
