The Season is Approaching - Important Notices

Post date: Mar 18, 2014 11:23:53 AM

Everyone concerned with the club is now beginning to think seriously about the coming season, here are a few important dates and notices.

Natwest Cricketforce Day, will take place at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 5th April. (In the event of bad weather we will try again on Sunday 6th). This is a very important day in which we do the essential jobs to prepare the ground for the start for the start of the season. Of particular importance this season are -

- The usual cleaning and grass cutting

- Wood to burn that was cut down from hedge

- Fence by the pavilion to pull out

- Ceiling to repair

- Tree stump to move

It would be great to see as many people as possible come to help out, even if its just for an hour or so!

All of our weekend fixtures are now on the website, the mid week fixtures are still to be confirmed but will be up asap. Fixtures will also be listed in BaSE magazine at the beginning of each month.

Our fundraising this year will be concentrated on what we hope will be a large supper and quiz in either Bridestowe (or if it is out of action, Sourton) Village Hall. in conjunction with Send-a-Cow of which Jenny Reynolds is the leading light, in the South West. Please, even at this early stage, put the date – Friday 5th September – in your diary. Further details will appear here and in BaSE in due course.

The President’s Match will take place the following day Saturday 6th September.

Junior Coaching will, hopefully, start in May, and again details will be advertised around the village and in BaSE next month. If you are keen to help contact Scott Tremain, whose details can be found on out contacts page.

Thank you to all who used and respected the ground over the off-season and to the committee for the hard work they've already put in. Do try and find time to get down to the ground this season to offer support, you will always be very welcome. With any luck we may get some better this summer and who knows you might even see some good cricket!
