Bridestowe got off to a flying start in the both evening Twenty20 competitions.

On Monday, Bridestowe traveled to Callington to take on old Tamar League opponents Buckland Monachorum in the Isaac Foot Cup. Bridestowe batted first and amassed a mammoth 223-4, thanks largely to new signing Rhys Palmer who belted 120no, with 6 sixes and 15 fours. Alex Jopling (31) and Corey Holliday (29no) also chipped in to help Bridestowe post their highest ever T20 total. In reply, Buckland were always behind the run rate and could only muster 122-7, with Alex Jopling (3-1) and Ebby Vallance (2-36) picking up wickets. Bridestowe will find out their opponents for round two in the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, Bridestowe hosted Lewdown in the new West Devon T20 competition. Bridestowe batted first and managed a competitive total of 144-5. Ryan Dennis (21), Jack Barkwell (19), Rhys Palmer (26no) and Dan Fogerty (33no) all got starts, but a testing spell by Leon Horn (2-15) kept the batsmen in check. Lewdown looked in control of the chase thanks to a solid partnership between Kian (34) and Tallan (37) Burns. However, a three-wicket spell by Matt Dennis (3-28) got Bridestowe back into the game. Lewdown fought all the way, but Dinecho Visser's 34no was in vain as Lewdown were restricted to 135-6. Next Tuesday Bridestowe travel to Whitchurch.
