"Secondly, here's Sam's telling of the aftermath of the terrible accident that changed his life."
Broken Fingers by Sam Baker -
"Thirdly, a particular favourite which, I think, illustrates Sam's talent for writing a movie script in a dozen or so lines. After not including this in his shows for many years I am delighted he now closes his shows with it."
Odessa by Sam Baker -
Philip -
"I seem to have hit upon a theme of sorts this week. Bet you'll all be singing along... but will it be to Mr. Carmichael, The Kinks, or Der Bingster?"
Lazy Bones by Hoagy Carmichael - "Dorothy Dandridge is seated next to him at the piano."
Busy Doing Nothing performed by Bing Crosby - "...from the 1949 film "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," featuring the voices of two actors not generally noted for their singing, William Bendix and Sir Cedric Hardwicke. I remember my grandmother singing this."

Tony -
"Here's my 3 for the week with best wishes as always to all."
Stuck Behind a Maserati by Mickey Jupp -
"I'd just like to respond to one of David's choices for week 38. My pal Graham is a huge Mickey Jupp fan, often sending me examples of his latest stuff so I sent him a link to our contributions and he sent me two links in return. The first features the late, great Wilco Johnson holding forth on Mickey's talent and the second a track called "Stuck Behind A Maserati" which, like most of Mickey's output, is very catchy and very tuneful."
Take The Money and Run Steve Miller Band - "I heard it was Steve Miller's 80th birthday yesterday -Thursday 5th October and still going strong but last surviving member of his band."
Calling Van Morrison by P J Proby - "Finally I thought the art of "answer records" was dead but according to Wiki that's far from the truth. I heard this one on the radio today and P J has decided to do just that in answer to Van Morrison's 1972 song "Whatever Happened To P J Proby"
Nina -

"It all got a bit spacey this week...and ended in Selby."
"Last weekend saw the 50th anniversary release of Hawkwind's legendary Space Ritual opus as a 10 CD box set. Recorded on the Space Ritual tour at the end of 1972 and released as a double LP in May 1973, this new release comprises the original album remixed and now in unedited form, plus 3 complete concerts from the 1972 tour; that's a lot of Space Rock!! I was very interested to hear about this release as Space Ritual and Lemmy's bass playing upon it was the spark which caused me to take up playing bass myself. Browsing Youtube looking for anything from this new release, I came upon this animated labour of love..."
Earth Calling/Born To Go by Hawkwind -
"On Space Ritual, there's a track called Time We Left This World today and this reminded me of my next choice, as the main riffs are very similar. Some old recordings were duly dug out..."
The Electric Palace by (Under)Ground Zero - "Hailing from Norwich and originally calling themselves Ground Zero, but having to undergo a slight name change due to there being another band in London with the same moniker, in the early to mid 80s, Underground Zero were the next best thing to seeing Hawkwind... and I saw them quite a few times around the area, their shows utilizing psychedelic projections, lasers, TV screens, smoke machines and strobe lighting. A regular venue they giged at was the old Theatre Studio Club behind the Norwich Theatre Royal and I ended up on convivial enough terms with them to cadge a couple of support slots for my own space rock band of the time at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds and Colchester Sports Centre(!!). This track is from their demo cassette of the time which I seem to think cost about £1.50."
"Back down to earth, and as Jackie has already mentioned, the week ended in Selby at the Town Hall for some live music from Damion O'Kane and Ron Block."
The Fiddler's Gun by Damien O'Kane and Ron Block -
'Til Next Time...
