After uploading SDS Week 25, I was reading through some news headlines before closing down the laptop, and sadly noticed that master Irish music guitarist Dennis Cahill had died a few days previously. I can remember when The Lonesome Touch was released and what a huge impression it made upon the trad music scene at the time due to Matin Hayes's deconstruction of "jigs and reels", but it wasn't just about the sublime fiddle playing but jointly how the tunes were accompanied in a carefully considered way on the guitar, each chord, note or harmonic purposefully chosen for maximum musical impact.
