A22- LIFE INSURANCE IS OF THE SPIRIT

THE PROFESSIONAL LIFE ADVISER’S GUIDE (Little Gems Series)

A22. (THE PRODUCT) - LIFE INSURANCE IS OF THE SPIRIT

Physically, man is poor shucks. Spiritually, he is little lower than the angels. And life insurance is a thing of the spirit.

Judge him physically and man is worth little. But follow him home. His home is not a den in the rocks, but a substantial structure with rugs, pictures, fireplace, books and music. Children call him father and when the songs are sung before the fire, the greetings exchanged, the house pulsates with an inexpressible love.

Whence came these things? We can answer only by saying they are spiritual, and that man’s home and all that it means to him are a manifestation of the things which are spiritual.

Do you scoff at the intangibility of things which are spiritual? Of all things you and I know, they are the most tangible. Take them away and there would be little to distinguish man from the cat napping in the sunshine.

Life insurance, like the home, is a manifestation of that within man which is spiritual. No law compels a man to buy life insurance. Yet millions of men have paid nearly two hundred thousand crore rupees for life insurance in India alone, for no reason other than that they love someone - a wife, children, father and mother, brothers and sisters. So there is about life insurance an essence of the things of the spirit, and things of the spirit always have about them a compelling grandeur.
