B2- THE AGENT

THE PROFESSIONAL LIFE ADVISER’S GUIDE (Little Gems Series)

B2. (THE PERSON) - THE AGENT

Most earnestly he marches on,

Over many a hillock and lawn,

His job isn’t all paper and ink,

But he’ll make you sit and think.

Where you are and where you’ll be,

He’ll open the door and you’ll see,

The dangers of a coming day,

But he’ll tell you of a way

Of avoiding that which is to come,

By putting up a little sum.

He’ll talk and talk until you feel,

Your heart is weak, your head is steel;

For he’s a regular “Book of Knowledge”

And he’ll teach you better than College,

Economics, logic and common sense,

Till you know the value of every pence.

By then the worth, of course, you’ll see,

Of a “Life Insurance Policy,”

And you’ll find it most discreet,

To sign over the proposal sheet.

And now you’ve struck a bargain true.

You are prepared when troubles woo,

So this is this and that is that,

To our Agent - off goes my hat.
