Semester 2:

Training Plan for the Mile Run

PLAN: Learn how to train for a Mile Run 

GOAL: Encourage students to develop and implement a training program in order to increase their cardiovascular endurance.

1) After completion of the training plan students will have the skills necessary to run their personal best in a one-mile-run

2) Goal Setting and log workouts in order to track progress.

3) Benchmarks will be met each of the 4 main workouts every other Monday.

Training Day  1 - 400 meter interval training at MILE pace.

STEP 1 :    Write down your Goal for the mile run in April. 

STEP 2:     Go to the 400m column and check your pace.

STEP 3:     Write your 400 Pace under GOALS in your training log.

STEP 4:     Run 4x400 at your 400m MILE pace on Monday in P.E. 

STEP 5:     Write your 400 times down on your sheet - adjust your goal if necessary. REMEMBER: The goal is to push yourself in order to run YOUR best mile.
