Jill Shuttleworth

SEAW President 2012-13; SEAW South Central President 2017, 2010-11, 2008, 2006, 2004, 2000-01, 1997

Born in Sunnyside WA, Jill Shuttleworth earned the BSCE at WSU in 1984 and the MS in Civil Engineering - Structures at WSU in 1985 with her thesis “Relative Deflection of Glue-Laminated Beams due to Moisture Cycling.”

Shortly after graduation Jill worked with Whitacre Engineers in Tacoma and later with Sargent Engineers in Olympia. In 1992 she returned to Sunnyside, where she practiced with her father Vern Anderson at Anderson Engineering and then as sole proprietor of JTS Engineering. In 2012 she joined Meier Architecture Engineering in Kennewick, working on large projects.

She originally joined SEAW Southwest, and served on its Board as a non-voting member. Following her move to Sunnyside she took an active role in the organization of the South Central Chapter, established March 6, 1995, and continuing as an officer.

In addition to her term as SEAW state President, Jill served on the Existing Buildings Committee, Education Committee, Membership Task Force, Strategic Plan Monitor, Disaster Prep/Response, Western Council, NW Council, NCSEA Advocacy Committee, and NCEES Structural Engineers Exam Committee. She also chaired the 2005 NW Conference held in Lewiston, Idaho.
