Joseph Bozick

President's Award 1988Upon graduation from the University of Washington in 1973, Joseph M. Bozick worked with The Boeing Aerospace Company for a year, doing structural deign on the Boeing 747.In 1974 he joined Harvey R. Dodd & Associates in Seattle, and earned associate status in the firm. He served as CEO of Pacific Engineering Technologies 1997-2007.His work as a project engineer has focused on concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood-frame structures as well as structural rehabilitation of historic buildings. Notable design projects undertaken early in his career include the ten-story concrete masonry Alaska House building and the five-story precast concrete Jefferson Building in Seattle. Joe engineered the structural rehabilitations of the Atlas Hotel, the Evergreen Hotel, and the seven-story Prudential Building.

Joe worked on the professional licensing examination, developing and correcting exam problems. He served as acting board member for the Washington Board of Professional Licensing in the 1986 Fall Conference, with other state representatives, to determine minimum competency requirements for structural examinees.
