Adam Slivers

President's Award 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013Born in Syracuse, New York as the son of an architect father who taught at Syracuse University, Adam Slivers took an early interest in drawing and construction.Adam earned the BS in Engineering from Cornell University in 1999, and beginning in 1999 worked with KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle. He has worked on a variety of projects large and small, focused on office, civic, and mixed-use. Notable projects include the Sea-Tac International Airport South Terminal Expansion, Amgen Helix biomedical campus, Sound Transit Link UW Station, Puyallup City Hall, Grays Harbor College Manspeaker Hall, and Washington State Veterans Home Skilled Nursing Facility in Port Orchard. In 2014, he began work with Lund Upsahl.Involved with both ASCE and SEAW beginning in 1999, Adam served as president of the ASCE younger member forum in 2005, and in 2012-13 as Chair of the SEAW Sustainability Committee. Also in 2012-13, Adam served on the Structural Engineering Institute's Committee on Sustainability, focusing on carbon footprint and lifecycle assessment. He has written several articles related to these topics, published in professional newsletters and journals.The 2013 President's Award recognizes Adam's work on the Sustainability Committee: creating a blog, developing regular newsletter contributions, interfacing with national committees on several topics, and providing a mini-seminar on disaster resilience. The 2015 Award acknowledges his valued service on the Seattle Chapter Board and contribution to the success of the 2014 Northwest Conference. The 2016 award honors his service on the Board and in education and outreach.
