C. Melville Barr

C. Melville Barr graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1919 and moved to Seattle in 1926.

He and two others founded the engineering firm of Cavin, Marshall and Barr in 1937. He retired from the successor firm of Marshall, Barr, & Pacquer, Inc. in 1973.

Mel designed many industrial facilities on the Pacific Coast, including pulp mills, sawmills, bridges, docks and wharves, and bulk shipping systems.
