2021 Autumn Online League

Following the success of the Spring and Summer online leagues the Mid Sussex League held something similar until over the board matches start again and Uckfield entered a team.  There were 12 teams, plus a separate Junior league, run on a  Swiss system.  Results reported through the ECF League Management System.  Time control - all moves in 25 mins with a 10 sec increment and matches played on lichess.

Basically we entered the same team as entered the Summer league and Daniel Hayes joined in for the last game.

Our first two games were against East Grinstead Bookshop 2 and then EGB 1 (I'm not writing all that out again).  We lost the first and then won the second, so that was an OK start to the competition.  Ian and Beauden both benefited from opponents who left their queens hanging in the second match.  All gifts gratefully received thankyou.  In the third match against Worthing 3 we drew 2-2 with Peter and Arran both winning, whilst Saxon and Beauden both lost.   MIxed fortunes...and then beat Worthing 2, with Peter, Arran and Beauden winning.  Terrific performance.  Next match against Worthing 1, much the strongest team in the league and it was a 2-2 draw.  Peter and Mark drew (despite having fleeting chances to win), Arran won and Beauden put up a great fight before losing.  A terrific team result.

Our last match was against Shoreham and it was another draw, with Peter and Arran losing, Dan and Beauden winning.  Another good team performance, it's good how in any one match different players contribute to the overall result.
