Shizuka

Shizuka has the same parentage as Mutsu. It is a Golden Delicious x Indo cross from the Aomori Research Station in Kurioshi, Japan. The fruit is large and firm, round, almost conic in shape, and colored an attractive, medium yellow with a pink blush. It is sweeter than Mutsu, ripens about 5 to 7 days earlier, and stores well.

Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (stays in slices)
