Royal Empire

Royal Empire was discovered as a sport of Empire (a McIntosh x Red Delicious cross) at Teeple Farms, Wolcott, New York, and released for planting in 1992. It is a medium size apple, brighter and redder than its parent, with crisp, white, slightly tart flesh.

Flavor: Sweet-tart

Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (stays in slices)
