Macoun
Sometimes pronounced "McCowan," Macoun is a McIntosh x Jersey Black cross. It was developed at the New York Agriculture Station in Geneva in 1909 and introduced in 1950. Its size and shape is like a McIntosh, with a more striped, deeper reddish purple coloring over a green background. It is a firm, aromatic, high quality eating apple. The fruit drops readily and bruises easily.
