Royal Court

Cortland is a McIntosh and Ben Davis cross and was developed at the New York Experiment Station in Geneva in 1915. This strain was discovered in Waterville, Nova Scotia, by Jacob Hartenhof. This apple has a deep red color, blushed with mahogany, and has very white, crisp flesh. It is considered superior to all other Cortland strains.

Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (cooks down)
