Jonagold
This strain is Jonagold De Coster and was selected by Henry De Coster, a Belgian horticulturist. It was released in 1968 from the New York Agriculture Station in Geneva. It is firm, large, and striped red-orange over a yellow-green base. It has a superb flavor and juicy, slightly tart flesh. It has fine dessert qualities, and will store in a refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Flavor: Sweet-tart
Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (stays in slices)
