Acey Mac

Acey Mac resembles McIntosh in taste, appearance and shape. This is an excellent quality apple, medium in size with close to 100% bright red color and firm, white flesh. It is considered a good all-purpose apple. It may be Spartan with a new name. Spartan was developed in 1926 in Summerland, British Columbia, the first new apple from a scientific breeding program. Originally thought to be a McIntosh x Newton Pippin cross, it's now unknown what variety was crossed with McIntosh, so Spartan's identity remains a mystery. Acey Mac has less pre-harvest drop than McIntosh.
