Ambrosia

Ambrosia is a relatively new cultivar of apple that originated in Similkameen Valley, British Columbia in the early 1990s. Its parentage is suspected to be Starking (Red) Delicious or Jonagold x Golden Delicious. The medium-sized fruit is pink to red blush over a yellow background with cream-colored, firm flesh, low acidity and a sweet flavor reminiscent of pear. It is best if kept chilled as the crispness fades fairly quickly if left out.

Flavor: Sweet

Uses: Fresh eating, juice/cider, sauce, baking (stays in slices)
