Once decided by Dominique-Vivant Denon to make it lithographed after the painting in his own Cabinet de Tableaux Baron Brunet-Denon his Nephew was active as a well-known propagateur de la lithographie en France depuis 1816. Inv.2002.2.2.dessin, excerpts à la fin du texte accompagnant ...Mais l'on ne comprend pas très bien la signification de ce dessin, qui semblerait plutôt illustrer la phrase attribué à Jean-Honoré Fragonard (Grasse 1732-1806 Paris) par Renouvier (1863, p. 167). Selon ce dernier, Fragonard, < peintre dans toutes les fibres de son corps et se sentant si fort poussé par le démon de cet art, qu'il disait dans un langage qu'on doit lui laisser sans périphrase, parce qu'il est de lui : 'je peindrais avec mon cul'> ^°
