Exhibitions:

Knot Just Braids: an exhibition of collaborative Kumihimo Braids by members of the Handspinners and Weavers Guild of SA 27 Oct - 18 Nov.
Gallery M, Marion Cultural Centre, 287 Diagonal Rd, Oaklands Park, open Mon-Sat 10-4, Sun 1-4.
Opening Night: Fri 27 Oct, 6pm.  Meet the artists: Nov 4 and Nov 12.  Full information available below.

Affiliate Group Events:

Adelaide Hills Hand Spinners and Weavers Guild Annual Equipment and Fibre Day: 17 Nov, 10-2 at Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall. Entry fee: $5 visitors, $3 members (which contributes to the hall hire costs). Tea, biscuits are included in the entry fee. Sandwiches available for purchase.

Other Fibre-related Events:

International Scarf Exchange 2024:
The theme for the 2024 scarf exchange is Aurora Australis. The Canberra Spinners and Weavers Guild are organising this exchange. Briefly, you send 150-200 grams of clean, prepared fibre and you create using the clean, prepared fibre you will be sent. Entry fee is $39 for Australian entrants. Information on the exchange can be downloaded below.
Registration, fibres and entry fees must be received by the CSW by 27th November 2023.  Your completed piece using the fibre you will be sent from another participant must be back in Canberra by 31 May, 2024. An exhibition of completed pieces will be held 22-30 June 2024, after which the completed piece will be returned to the person who supplied the original fibre.

Earlier International Scarf Exchanges:

The Guild organised the International Scarf Exchange for 2020.  An online exhibition can be viewed.
Did you make a scarf for the 2022 exchange? An online exhibition of the 2022 International Scarf Exchange is now available for viewing.

Regular Fibre Workshops:

Evocative Arts offer a variety of 1-5 day workshops held at Cherry Gardens Memorial Hall, Cherry Gardens (in the Adelaide Hills).  For further information go to:  www.evocativearts.com.au/workshops.
