The Guild exists:
to bring together persons to practice the crafts of handspinning, weaving, dyeing & associated crafts for their mutual benefit.
for the advancement of these crafts by workshops, discussions & exhibition of works.
Membership in the Guild offers many benefits. Members can join a Guild Group or work on a Group project.
Join the Guild:
at any monthly meeting (1st Sat in the month, except January). Pay your membership fees directly to the Guild membership secretary. Payments can be made in cash, cheque or credit card.
at the Little Glory Gallery when it is open (Wed & Sat 11-3). Payments can be made in cash, cheque or credit card.
by post. Fill out the printable membership form (available for downloading above) and send it along with your cheque or money order and a self-addressed stamped envelope (for return of your membership card) to: The Membership Secretary, Handspinners and Weavers Guild of SA, PO Box 163 Torrensville Plaza, 5031.
What are the membership fees?
The Guild Membership Year commences on November 1st each year. All membership fees include GST.
Current membership fees:
New Members: $50 - all year around. (If paying after July, the following year's membership is included in that payment.)
Full Members: $70 - or $50 (Early Bird rate, if payment is received by the November Guild Meeting).
Family membership: $110 - or $90.00 (Early Bird rate, if payment is received by the November Guild Meeting).
Affiliate Group with 15 or fewer members: $130 - or $100 (Early Bird rate, if payment is received by the November Guild meeting).
Affiliate Group with more than 15 members: $200 - or $140 (Early Bird rate, if payment is received by the November Guild meeting)

What are the benefits of membership?
All Guild members are emailed the Guild News.
The Guild News is now going digital. It is bi-monthly and will now be emailed to all members. It includes information on up-coming events, including workshops, and reports about what the Guild has been doing.
All members can attend the Guild's monthly meeting.
Meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month (except January), at the Guild Hall, 196 South Road, Mile End (corner of South Road and Lurline Street). The doors open at 10 am.
The library opens at 10:30 am, and yarns, fleece and other supplies may be purchased and equipment (spinning wheels and looms) may be hired.
Tea, coffee and other refreshments are available for a small charge.
Members are encouraged to display recently completed craft work. Official business is discussed at 12:15 pm. A guest speaker usually follows the business meeting.
All members can join informal groups.
Informal Groups meet regularly at the Guild. All members and members of Affiliated Groups are welcome to join these groups.
A small donation is requested from those participating in an informal group. For more information of any of these groups please contact the Guild by phone (8352 4843) or email (spinweavesa@gmail.com).
Groups that are affiliated with the Guild hold their own friendly meetings to share techniques and ideas. Affiliates are located in the Adelaide Hills, South Coast, South East, Whyalla, and as far away as Mildura.
Workshops are arranged to pass on a variety of skills associated with the crafts. Tutors include Guild members as well as interstate and overseas craftspeople. Contact the Guild for more information.
All members can sell their crafts through the Little Glory Gallery.
The Little Glory Gallery is the Guild’s sales outlet for members crafts. Crafts sold in the Gallery are scrutinised by a representative of the Guild to ensure a high standard of work is maintained.
