The Guild's 60th Birthday in 2023

The Guild celebrates 60 years of spinning, weaving and associated crafts in 2023.

Some celebratory activities have been organised: including the usual Birthday Challenge for the first half of 2023. 

To keep the celebrations going all year, a Fibre Challenge will happening in the second half of the year.   Participants have already purchased either a 100g. Polwarth fibre braid ($17, sourced from Wirreanda Stud in the Adelaide Hills) or a 100g. skein of sock yarn ($23), custom handpainted for the Guild by Kathy of Kathys Fibres at Lobethal.  She was provided with stimulus materials by the Guild to create this custom project for the Guild.   The fibres were ready to collect at the May 2023 meeting.  If you are unable to attend in May they will be available at other Guild meetings as well. If you don't want to wait, ask a friend to pick up your fibres.

You may add any other fibres you need to this starter fibre and create anything that sparkles, using any of your fibre crafting skills!
Finished items will be displayed at the December 2023 meeting for all to learn from, admire and enjoy.
