Come and Try
Deflected Double Weave
Date: Now postponed until 2024
Time:
Cost:
Description: Deflected double weave is a weave structure where there are two layers woven at the same time but unlike regular double weave the threads of the two layers are interlaced which results in the two sides of the fabric having the opposite designs.
Every weaver will be given a different design which you will set up on your loom as per the drawdown supplied. You will supply all the yarn required.
All looms must be fully set up and ready to go before the start of the Come and Try day. You will not have time at the start of the Come and Try to set up a loom. If you would like to talk over your yarn choices, please talk to one of us beforehand.
Participants Ability Level: You must be able to completely set up an 8 shaft table loom for weaving - before the Come and Try day begins.
Don't have a suitable table loom? If you are a Guild member, you can rent one from the Guild - but must make arrangements in advance to do so.
Advisors: Ali Giles-Damjanovska, Bella Head and Kate Holmes - who have more experience among them than they care to acknowledge!
You must: register and pay to attend this Come and Try session.
How to register to participate: Contact the Guild by email (spinweavesa@gmail.com) to make sure your name gets added to the list of participants. Closing date: TBA There is a limit on participant numbers - a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 18.
