Lemongrass
I use Lemongrass extensively: to purify the lymph (dilute, if used on sensitive spots), for ligaments, for mosquitoes, to break down unwanted tissues (Healing stories #5 and #10), & to heal the new ones, on my knees when biking for a long distance. Besides, it tastes delicious when added to a drink.
I have recommended Lemongrass to a few friends of mine for varicose veins and for connective tissues and ligaments. Myself, I used it to dissolve a bump on my head,which took me 3 nights. Remember to apply the oil not only to location, but also on the muscles leading to the problem area, and the spine. If you have pain, or arthritis, you might want to use other oils as well.

Well, a little bit. It has been helping while I'm at work. Also, I took Peyton to the Central Park zoo on Friday. I did A LOT of walking. By the time we got home I was in so much pain. So I put the oil on with hot cloth and wrapped my feet. It felt amazing.
But it hasn't quite been a week, so I'm still optimistic.

Lemongrass For Varicose Veins

I come from a long line of hereditary Varicose Vein disease and at age 33 was already displaying the infamous exaggerated “road map” blue cords all over my legs. Not only were they unsightly and embarrassing for me, but also having the veins is painful and causes leg fatigue.
Fortunately I came across all the uses of Lemongrass E.O. in the Essential Oils Desk Reference book and decided to give it a shot. At first I applied the oil directly to my legs, which caused slight irritation and redness. Now I dilute 1 part Lemongrass with 4 parts organic olive oil or grape seed oil. Within minutes my legs are invigorated and the dull, achy vein pain disappears! Even better, after a couple of months of applying diluted Lemongrass directly to my legs once or twice a week, the actual veins have diminished and are but a fraction of the sight that they used to be. I am no longer embarrassed to wear shorts!

Shoulder surgery has been postponed indefinitely

I was scheduled to have surgery a few months back to fix a slap tear/rotator cuff tear in my shoulder that was causing me lots of pain and preventing me from training (I'm a former college swimmer that now swims with a Master's team).
A friend of mine that has been using the Young Living oils for several years suggested I try Lemongrass oil before having the surgery. I started applying this oil to my shoulder before and after swim practice with some V6 oil on top to prevent skin irritation. I'm happy to report that after one month of using Lemongrass on a daily basis, my shoulder was feeling so good that I have postponed my surgery indefinitely. Thanks Young Living!!!
