Skin - Taking care of

I envy animals - they never look in the mirror, searching for wrinkles and other imperfections.

However, people, especially women, do care how they look.

And why not? After all, your skin is the largest organ, which envelopes your entire body, and actively participates in metabolic processes. So it's important to keep it moist, hydrated, and clean.

Please remember, that when your liver is intoxicated, and can't function properly anymore, your skin will start throwing toxins (pimples, rash, eczema, etc.). Therapeutic grade essential oils are very effective for healing, cleansing, repairing and rejuvenating your body, mind and soul. Read more here...

Summertime is when you have to pay extra attention to your skin, especially if you go to the beach when the sun is hot.

For two years in a row, when taking vacation in Florida in July, I've used Sweet Almond oil (as a base oil) with Geranium. The result? I never got burnt and got a pretty dark suntan, the darkest I ever had. However, one day we went on a kayak trip which lasted longer than I anticipated, and I did not protect my skin. Yes, I did get burnt. However, with the help of Young Living St.Maries Lavender, my skin was ok in 2 days!

Using commercially-made soaps does a lot of damage to your skin.

"When the skin is cleansed with soup, it's natural hydrolipid layer is attacked and the acid mantle is destroyed. Skin in general is quite robust, but soup in particular can be detrimental to the skin and the consequences of continued abuse will be noticeable years later" (from Aromatherapy Course by Dr. rer. nat. Kurt Schnaubelt) "It is necessary to let go of a cherished, intuitive prejudice, that good cleansing is associated with lots of lather. This is a real illusion. The lather is only an accompanying effect which generally occurs with soups or detergents. These detergents are, of course, "dissolving" the oily or fatty debris, but there are much better means to achieve the result. Oil and fat cannot be removed with acetone or turpentine, which would be too harsh for the skin, but with fats or vegetable oils."

Yes, one of the main "achievements" of "botanical" shampoo manufacturers is to effect the miraculous metamorphosis from synthetic chlorosulfation to "derived from coconut oil". The fact is, lauryl and laureth sulfate detergents are fully synthetic. "

Therefore, by combining vegetable oils for different body types with essential oils and aloe you can make home-made cleansing products. You can also use already made products which are great for your skin.

For example, massage blends, like Cel-Lite and Ortho Sport Magic to detox, repair and nourish the skin.

Lavender, Geranium, Sandalwood, and Elemi essential oils are amazing for your skin.

Attached, please find information from EDR on many oils and a few quick recipes. Please note, as stated in the EDR, it is a good idea to cleanse your liver and colon to achieve quicker results.

Before putting YL essential oils on, I would give a nice bath to your hands and feet, alternating hot and cold water. I would add raw organic apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper and squeeze fresh lemon to the hot water bucket. After 15 minutes of such exercising of your extremities, I would proceed applying the essential oils on wet extremities. Please refer to https://sites.google.com/site/younglivingeu/home/using-oils-for-different-problems/raynaud-syndrom for more information on different oils.

Dry skin body gel (from Aromatherapy Course by Dr. rer. nat. Kurt Schnaubelt)

Coco-protein 20 ml

Coco-glycine condensate 20 ml

Coco-polyglucose thickener 5-10 ml

Sunflower seed oil (or Avocado oil) 5 ml

Lecithin 35 10 ml

Essential oil 10-20 drops

Water 55 ml

"There is nothing more involved than stirring substances together and it usually takes no longer than 2 to 3 minutes. All that is needed is a beaker and a stirrer or a spoon. The same utensils used for cream-making may be used.

First, measure the detergents into the beaker, then add the thickening agent. These should be stirred diligently to form a homogenous solution. Then, add the water and stir until the mixture thickens. It is possible that at first the blend is rather viscous or thick, however, it will thin considerable when essential oils are added.

Sometimes the resulting mixture is opaque due to little air bubbles which are inadvertently stirred into the composition. In most cases the bubbles will rise to the top in a matter of hours and the emulsion becomes clear."

2. Tissue Regeneration and the Miracle of Lavaderm

by Vicki Opfer

To me, LavaDerm® spray is one of the most amazing products

Young Living carries. I have seen it absolutely regenerate tissue

at an astounding rate.

My son, Chris, lost about 2/3 of the skin on his right leg

in a quad accident, where it was just rubbed off his body when

he was dragged under the tire. The doctors wanted to admit

him into a burn unit. Instead, I just had them use xylocaine to

anesthetize the leg and clean the gravel out for me. Then I

took him home and applied a LOT of LavaDerm.

At first, we were using it about every half hour. Over the next

few weeks we sprayed several bottles of LavaDerm on that leg.

His leg healed perfectly, in record time, without a scar, and

the hair even grew back. He and I REALLY wish we had taken

pictures.

I also gave him a LOT of vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc (which

supports healthy skin). Vitamin C is the stress vitamin, and

when a body is stressed, it uses more than usual. So I believe

I gave him at LEAST 1,000 mg of vitamin C twice every

day. Since it's water soluble, it's gone from the body in about

12 hours.

Thinking back, taking Sulferzyme capsules might have been a

good idea, also, because it helps restore skin, hair, and nails.

In any case, I just wanted to say that I believe in LavaDerm®.

I have seen it perform miracles. Whether it is a burn from

abrasion or from heat, it works better than anything else I

have ever seen.
