Capstone

The Senior Capstone previously known as the Portfolio will now take place on 2 nights. Students are to complete the all of their credit recovery prior to them working on the Capstone. Students must complete each aspect in order to pass the Capstone.

Ms. Bryant will handle all of the Senior Capstones at the Satellite locations:

Melrose, South, North, and East.

Ms. Foster will handle the Senior Capstones for the Main building.

The Senior Capstone teacher, Capstone coordinators, building coordinators, and Mr. Davenport will meet monthly to ensure that everyone is on the same page. The following dates are set for the next meetings at 7:30 am at the Main, location in the cafeteria:

· September 19^th

· October 17^th

· November 7^th

· December 4^th

For the Satellite locations the Senior Capstone teacher is the floater. Their assigned to making sure the students complete all parts of the capstone and have all the proper documentation to present. For the main location the teachers are to be determined.

Students will have a checklist of different criteria’s that they need for their capstone. When they finish they will have their assigned teacher look over the capstone to ensure all components were met and schedule them for one of the Capstone nights.

Students will present a PowerPoint presentation and their Capstone binder to their peers, parents, and teachers beginning at 6:00 pm at the Fitness Academy. Student’s presentations should be between 5 and 10 minutes. The date to present the Capstone are as follows:

Wednesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 15^th, 2018

Make-Up Presentations will be on Wednesday, November 28^th, 2018

ALL STUDENTS WHO PLAN ON GRADUATING ON DECEMBER 13^TH MUST PRESENT ON ONE OF THE TWO SCHEDULED NIGHTS AND PASS. IF STUDENTS FAIL FOR ANY REASON THEY CAN RESCHEDULE FOR THE MAKEUP DAY OF NOVEMBER 28^TH!

Capstones Presentations must be turned in to the Capstone Coordinators no later than Thursday, November 8^st for students presenting on Wednesday, November 14^th and Thursday, November 15^th.
