Jung Hyo

Jung Hyo is the pattern required of a Blue Belt grade in order to progress to Red Tag.

This pattern is the 6th of the 8 Pal Jung Do Poomse.

Jung Hyo's breathing form is the dragon (similar to Jung In). This breathing form starts by moving the left leg to the chung bi stance. During the breathing form create a knife hand with the thumb touching the base of the middle finger.

Jung Hyo

  1. Turn to left. Left forward stance, low knife hand block, into left back stance, high rising knife hand block.
  2. Right front kick, into right forward stance, spear finger strike.
  3. Turning 90 degrees to right. Right forward stance, high section cross block.
  4. Release, right arm high punch.
  5. Left front kick, taking left foot back into right forward stance, double punch.
  6. Turn 90 degrees to right. Right forward stance, low knife hand block, into right back stance, high rising knife hand block.
  7. Left front kick, into left forward stance, spear finger strike.
  8. Turn 90 degrees to left. Left forward stance, , low knife hand block, into left back stance, high rising knife hand block.
  9. Right front kick, left side kick. Turn 90 degrees right. Right forward stance, high section cross block.
  10. Release, right arm high punch.
  11. Left front kick, taking left foot back into right forward stance, double punch.
  12. Turn 90 degrees to left. Left horse riding stance outer knife hand strike.
  13. Step forward into right forward stance, target elbow strike.
  14. Turn 270 degrees to left. Left back stance, low knife hand guarding block.
  15. Step forward into right forward stance, elbow strike.
  16. Turn 180 degrees to right. Right back stance, low knife hand guarding block.
  17. Step forward into left forward stance, elbow strike.
  18. Turn 90 degrees to left. Left back stance, low knife hand guarding block, into left forward stance, reverse upset elbow strike.
  19. Right front kick, left back kick, into left back stance, low knife hand block.
  20. Right front kick, into right forward stance, spear finger strike.
  21. Turn 270 degrees to left. Left forward stance, low knife hand block, into left back stance, high rising knife hand block.
  22. Right front kick, into right forward stance, spear finger strike.
  23. Turn 180 degrees to right. Right forward stance, low knife hand block, into right back stance, high rising knife hand block.
  24. Left front kick, into left forward stance, spear finger strike.
  25. Turn 90 degrees to left. Left back stance low knife hand guarding block, into left forward stance reverse mid-section punch.

Stepping back to chung bi with end breathing form.
