Basic Pattern

Basic Pattern is the pattern required of a White Belt grade in order to progress to Yellow Tag.

Basic Pattern starts from the basic chung bi position. Moving your left leg out so that your feet are parallel and shoulder width apart, bring your open hands to shoulder level as you breath in. Create a fist and bring them down to just below your belt whist breathing out.

Basic Pattern

  1. Turning to the left. Left forward stance, low section block (left arm).
  2. Stepping forward. Right forward stance, low section block (right arm).
  3. Turning 180 degrees to the right. Right forward stance, low section block (right arm).
  4. Stepping forward. Left forward stance, low section block (left arm).
  5. Turning 90 degrees to the left. Left forward stance, twin low section block.
  6. Right leg high rising kick, to right forward stance, twin low section block.
  7. Left leg high rising kick, to left forward stance, twin low section block.
  8. Right leg high rising kick, to right forward stance, twin low section block.
  9. Turning 270 degree to the left. Left back stance, outer mid-section block (left arm).
  10. Stepping forward. Right forward stance, forward punch (right arm) and SHOUT!
  11. Turning 180 degrees to the right. Right back stance, outer mid-section block (right arm).
  12. Stepping forward. Left forward stance, forward punch (left arm).
  13. Turning 90 degrees to the left. Left back stance, outer knife hand strike (left arm).
  14. Stepping forward. Right back stance, outer knife hand strike (right arm).
  15. Stepping forward. Left back stance, outer knife hand strike (left arm).
  16. Stepping forward. Right back stance, outer knife hand strike (right arm).
  17. Turning 180 degrees to the left. Left back stance, outer knife hand strike (left arm) and SHOUT!

Stepping back, return to the starting chung bi position.
