YUK Jang

The following is a written version of Yuk Jang the sixth of the Taeguek Poomse. The techniques are also written in Korean in brackets adjacent.

This poomse is for blue belt (4th Kup) students in order to obtain their blue belt red tags (3th Kup).

From ready stance (junbiseogi):

  1. Move the left foot to the left into a left forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a left low section block (araemakki).
  2. Execute a right front kick (oreunbal apchagi). Set the right foot back into a left back stance (wen dwitkubi) and execute an outer mid section block (momtong bakkatmakki), left arm.
  3. Turn 180 degrees to the right into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a right low section block.
  4. Execute a left front kick (wenbal apchagi). Set the left foot back into a right back stance (oreun dwitkubi) and execute an outer mid section block (momtong bakkatmakki), right arm.
  5. Moving the left foot, turn 90 degrees to the right into a let forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a right knife hand twist block (hansonnal bitureomakki).
  6. Execute a right high turning kick (oreunbal olgul dollyochagi). Set the right foot down in front, then turn 90 degrees to the left into a left forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a outer high section block (olgul bakkatmakki), left arm, followed by a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), right arm.
  7. Execute a right front kick (oreunbal apchagi). Set the right foot down into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), left arm.
  8. Moving the rigth foot, turn 180 degrees counter clockwise into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a outer high section block (olgul bakkatmakki), right arm, followed by a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), left arm.
  9. Execute a left front kick (wenbal apchagi). Set the left foot down into a left forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), right arm.
  10. Moving the left foot, turn 90 degrees counter clockwise into a parallel stance (naranhiseogi) and execute a low section opening block (arae hechomakki).
  11. Moving the right foot, step forward into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a left knife hand twist block (hansonnal bitureomakki).
  12. Execute a left high section turning kick (wenbal olgul dollyochagi) with KIHAP. Set the left foot down in front, then turn 270 degrees counter clockwise, moving the right foot, into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a right low section block (araemakki).
  13. Execute a left front kick (wenbal apchagi). Set the left foot back into a right back stance (oreun dwitkubi) and execute an outer mid section block (momtong bakkatmakki), left arm.
  14. Moving the left foot, turn 180 degrees counter clockise into a left forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a left low section block (araemakki).
  15. Execute a right front kick (oreunbal apchagi). Set the right foot back into a left back stance (wen dwitkubi) and execute an outer mid section block (momtong bakkatmakki), right arm.
  16. Moving the right foot, turn 90 degrees counter clockwise into a left back stance (wen dwitkubi) and execute a knife hand guarding block (sonnal momtongmakki).
  17. Moving the left foot, step backwards into a right back stance (oreun dwitkubi) and execute a knife hand guarding block (sonnal momtongmakki).
  18. Moving the right foot, step backwards into a left forward stance (wen apkubi) and execute a left inner mid section palm block (wen batangson momtongmakki), followed by a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), right arm.
  19. Moving the left foot, step backwards into a right forward stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a right inner mid section palm block (oreun batangson momtongmakki), followed by a reverse mid section punch (momtong barojireugi), left arm.

Moving the left foot, return to the ready stance (junbiseogi).
