Thanks for your questions, it’s good that so many people ask for views from their candidates.

I have not heard of utility cycling before, but in brief, my mother was killed in a cycle/car accident two years ago and I am all in favour of increased cycling and cycle safety in Chch. I would like to see cycle lanes safer and possibly part of the footpath, as this would keep cyclists safe from cars and roads freer for cars – a win-win situation, wouldn’t you agree!

I don’t cycle at present, but as mother of two pre-schoolers I imagine getting on two-wheels with my children in the next few years.

I think cycling is great for everyone, healthy, economical, environmentally friendly and fun and should be as safe and accessible as possible.
