My personal experience is that we have gone down to a 1 car family and I do cycle quite regularly as a mode of transport.
Yes i would like to see utility cycling developed in our city but lets not forget that we are a lot further ahead than other places.
In response to the helmet issue I think riders must wear helmets and why wouldn't anyone??
Cycling lanes and car parks is an issue in my mind that I can not broadly respond to I feel it is situational.
No i don't think cyclists should use the pavements our pavements are not wide enough!
I would prefer to lobby and educate drivers on how to respect cyclists on our roads.
Bike racks on public transport systems is a good idea and yes having biked into town and then realised that i have a strong norwester head wind heading home i certainly would prefer to jump on the bus!!
I think cycling is a fantastic sport and like i said at the start of my e mail we have gone down to being a 1 car family this meaning that my 6 year old son has to bike home with me form school. I don't just use my cycling for transportation but also for competition and i am all for the bikes.
Yours sincerly
