March 21, 2011

We got an early start and were out of the hotel by 7 am. Darrell wanted to take a look at the Rialto fresh market, so on we walked. It was Darrell's work day today and he had to be back to the hotel by 9am for the Buyer to Buyer event. The bright and early start blessed us with the magic lighting that a clear sunny morning brings.

Darrell met with wine producers from Northern Italy and tasted thier wines all day at the Winett Tate & Trade buyer to buyer event held at the Westin Europa & Regina Hotel. Esther filmed the morning portion of the event and she and I also interviewed a few producers for the Winett video.

Esther and I finished filming and interviewing just before lunch, so it was off to the Bar for an Italian beer and to satisify Esther's thirst for a shot of Tequila. Once watered, Esther and I decided to explore more of the streets of Venice while Darrell tasted the rest of the day. Esther and I were like addicts. We literally couldn't put the cameras down snapping shots of all angles. We noticed that it wasn't just us. Just about eveyone with a camera in hand looked to be bitten by the shutter bug monkey.

Venetian drinking tip

After a long day of exploring Venice we all retreated to our hotel rooms to catch a few breaths. Esther turned in for the evening. Darrell and I revisited Harry's Bar for dinner.

We both had the Stockfish two ways. I can certainly see how this is one of the most famous dishes of Venice. It was ABSOUTELY delicious!
