Departure Day 6:13am

Sacramento - Chicago, Chicago - Frankfurt, Frankfurt - Milan, Milan - Palermo

Darrell, Esther, and I left Sacramento International on time at 6:13 am headed for Chicago. We landed in Chicago 15 minutes early. After getting a shoe shine, Darrell made for the nearest hot dog vendor. We found "America's Hot Dog" in the C concourse at O'Hare International. Darrell bought a Chicago hot dog for each of us. Poppy seed bun, mustard, pickle spear, tomatoes, and a hot dog. Darrell thought they were "average, so he thought he'd try a Milwaukee dog next. Poppy seeded bun, sauerkraut, light gravy, and a bratwurst. He had them cut it into 3 pieces, so we all shared. The brat had good flavor. On our way to the Red Carpet lounge, we came across a Vienna Hot dog vendor . Darrell had to have one to compare against the America's Hot Dog. Here's his review:

Chicago Hot Dog #1

Chicago Hot Dog #2

We spent the rest of our 3 hour layover in the Red Carpet Lounge. Darrell gave us a history lesson about Sicily and some background on the places we were scheduled to visit over cocktails. It was a great way to spend the layover!
