Our homeward bound travel day.

After a good rest and breakfast, we loaded the car, took our last looks at the Gróf Degenfeld Castle Hotel, and hit the road at 8 am so we would have time to turn in the rental car and make our 12:30pm flight to Munich.

We made pretty good time on the return trip. We took the fairly new E71 highway, which when driving west bound for Budapest , allows a straight straight to the airport drive rather than having to drive into the city first. We dropped of the rental car, checked in for our flight, then browsed the duty free and other shops in the modernized terminal.

Just like most places in Hungary, the Airport was no exception... it's all about the pig... the Mangalitsa Pig!

Our flight to Munich took off a few minutes late, but we had enough time to catch our Munich - San Francisco home. It was another very clear warm day. The flight took us directly over Budapest and my window seat was definitely front row with great views of the Danube winding its way through the Heart of Budapest. I couldn't have asked for a better view on the way home.

The one hour flight was smooth with more great views below as we crossed Austria. We made it to Munich on time and were ready to catch our Lufthansa Airbus A340 home.

This trip was very special for us all. We are very thankful to the many wonderful hosts in The Republic of Georgia and Hungary who showed us more than we ever imagined. This trip was truly sensory overload. I hope all who have viewed this blog not only enjoyed the videos and photos, but also learned as we did how amazing travel with Darrell Corti can be.

Until the next adventure... Thanks for watching!
