JAGS + JSA Italy Trip !

This past spring break the two Jackson academies traveled to Italy together to immerse themselves in the culture and travel the country. It was such a great experience and I truly enjoyed every aspect of it. I learned so much about myself and my friends around me. I am grateful to be able to travel to many different monuments and historical sites. Putting myself into an unfamiliar situation helped me to understand how to travel and adapt to my surroundings. I experienced a few culture shocks, but they were not ‘life-changing’ as JAGS had prepared me well for different cultures. Our tour guide was amazing at introducing us to each new city and gave fascinating information about each place. It was so much fun to try all the different kinds of food and explore the cities with close friends.

I learned a lot about myself during this trip. Traveling with over 100 kids between the two academies and being surrounded by close friends for nine days is quite a challenge. Trips like that test friendships, but only made mine closer. In addition, on this trip, there were people in my group that I did not know, so it was nice to be able to get to know them and become super close. I also loved interacting with the juniors as I really did not have a place or class where I could before, so it was super cool to be able to talk with them and experiences new things together. Overall, my trip to Italy was super fun and I recommend everyone to explore cultures beyond their own. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel to many different cities, each unique with its own distinct characteristics!
