In this essay, I research the negative impacts of technology in a growing age of technological advancement. Researching for this essay, I realize the great impact that technology has on one’s physical and mental health. I found it incredibly interesting because my generation has grown up with technology, so the idea of growing up with no technology at all is difficult at first. Technology is extremely beneficial to society and has greatly advanced our scientific knowledge, though it comes with consequences.

It’s mind boggling to realize how dependent people are on technology. Many people can not go long without using their phone. This essay made me take a step back to look at how I use my technology. I also found it interesting how the European Union was looking into 5G and its effect on humanity. Looking back I was wondering if an individualistic versus a collectivistic society might use technology more or less than the other. This assignment was one of my first high school essays so it was rather different from essays I had written in the past. Overall, I found it very enlightening to research this topic given how advanced technology has become. It was also interesting to listen to what other people thought about this topic and whether or not they thought technology was negative or positive.
