As the Jackson High School Marching Band, I went on a trip to Philadelphia and New York city. The trip was incredibly exciting and a great experience. In Philadelphia, we explore the many historical sights, such as the liberty bell. It was so interesting to apply our knowledge from our past history classes to exploring Philadelphia. We were visiting over Thanksgiving, so we marched in the Dunkin' Donut Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was tons of fun to play our music, marching through the streets with tons of people surrounding us.

In New York City, we visited time square and the many stores surrounding it. We watched the Radio City Rockettes and enjoyed tons of food on Thanksgiving day. The trip was tons of fun and was a great experience traveling with tons of friends. The trip was one of the first that I went on with the school where we were able to explore on our one. This was thrilling and I have many memories from this trip, though it also taught me a lot about safety and traveling in large cities. It was interesting to travel with the band and compare it to other school trips I’ve been on. Overall, it was such a fun experience and definitely a learning experience for traveling as a young adult.
