One of my favourites for a 5-6 hour session with plenty of action. Convenient location and convenient on the bank with waiters riding up and down the bank on bicycles. Bung Maruay is a well kept lake that does tend to get busy on weekends, although early Saturday morning is okay.

Expect lots of runs and don't be too worried about people casting near you; this is Thai style fishing and once you accept it and just crack on it usually works out for the best.

Lots of sawai to be caught here and Mekong catfish too. Although the Mekong are more difficult I have had one more or less every time I've been. Having a Mekong catfish on light gear is an amazing fight. Fishing on the bottom with bread flake on a light feeder and sliced bread on the hook works well.
