Aug 2006 (Pt1)

I think someone just couldn't resist refitting the guard's ducet, suitably restored. The glass remains to go in but its quite effective. The second two pictures show the panels with gold size and 4 coats of varnish.

This helps to protect the wood and stops it splitting as has happened on other panels.

However fortunately not these large panels. The exterior panels on the 1st 3 bays have been refitted and pinned in place. They immediately received protection from the temperature changes.

This view shows a complete and well varnished coach end.Not to leave the 'B' side ignored these views show a similar level of progress with all frame repairs complete ....... and some external panels, beading and varnish in place
