Playing your levels

You may by now have created the best level in the world, but what is the use if you can't even play it?

This section will tell you how to load your levels on 3 ways!

Required

* [Method 1] RiiVolution

* [Method 2 & 3] Wiiscrubber 1.4 & PartitionBuilder

Links

* [Method 2] Wiiscrubber 1.4: http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=4399

* [Method 2] PartitionBuilder 1.1: http://filetrip.net/f4460-Partition-Builder-1-1.html

Guide:

note: No matter what Guide you use, you must make sure that the level you made has the EXACT same name as the level you are going to replace!

note2: "NSMBW_extracted" is used to name the folder where you put the extracted partition. This folder contains the Stage folder, some other folders (Layout, Object, ...) and some files (COPYDATE_DATA,...).

Method 1 -- RiiVolution.

A usage guide for RiiVolution will be posted later on ;)

You can find several guides on RVLution.net already.

Method 2 - WiiScrubber - One by one replacement.

Important: Changes with WiiScrubber are permanent and will change immediately (without confirmation), so make a backup of your game ISO before making changes!

If you have very few levels to replace (or just have too much time on your hands), you can replace each level one by one.

Computer ----------------------

1. Download WiiScrubber 1.4 (if you don't have it anymore) and load it up.

2. Click "Load ISO" and browse to your NSMB Wii ISO.

3. Open the game partition (partition 0), then open the Stage folder.

4. Right click the level you want to replace and choose "Replace" (O RLY?). Browse for your ARC file and let WiiScrubber do its thing.

Just keep doing that until you replace all levels you wanted to replace and close WiiScrubber.

The ISO will now have all your new levels!

Method 3 - WiiScrubber - Rebuilding the whole partition.

Important: Changes with WiiScrubber are permanent and will change immediately (without confirmation), so make a backup of your game ISO before making changes!

Note: This method is not recommended unless you have a LOT of levels to replace!

For this method to work, you will need a completely extracted partition (Method 2 of the Setup guide). We still need to extract some extra files that were not extracted.

Computer ----------------------

1. Download WiiScrubber 1.4 (if you don't have it anymore) and load it up.

2. Click "Load ISO" and browse to your NSMB Wii ISO.

3. Open the game partition (partition 0). Now extract the following files:

  • Partition.bin

  • Apploader.img

  • Boot2.bin

  • Bi2.bin

  • Main.dol

Place the extracted files somewhere where you can easily find them (in my case: C:/Reggie/Partition_Data).

4. Close WiiScrubber. Now load up the PartitionBuilder (link is above if you need it).

Note: This is NOT the partitionBuilder included with WiiScrubber, but one that actually works!

5. Fill in all the boxes with the files you extracted in step 3 (they're in the same order as I put them above).

For the last box, you choose the "NSMBW_extracted" folder (or whatever folder the partition files which you extracted are in).

6. Once done, click "Build" and wait.... It takes quite a while....

7. So after the long waiting, run WiiScrubber again. Load your NSMBW ISO.

8. Right click Partition 0 and and go to "Unencrypted partition" > Load.

Browse for the partition that was created by the Partition Builder (should be in the NSMBW_extracted folder).

After the partition is replaced, you can now load up the ISO and play!
