Instinto: inteligência de origem divina na matéria

Resumo: O instinto é uma forma de inteligência que age em nível material e inconsciente para prover a sobrevivência e manutenção dos seres vivos, incluindo o ser humano. Frequentemente confundido com más paixões, o instinto foi analisado por Kardec e considerado uma verdadeira providência divina em favor das criaturas. Entretanto, pelo instinto ser uma forma de inteligência, a sua origem se tornou um ponto difícil para o Codificador que considerava que nenhuma inteligência poderia provir da matéria. Kardec propôs e analisou três hipóteses para a origem do instinto, mas não apontou nenhuma delas como solução. Ele, porém, apresentou as condições que uma solução para esse problema deve satisfazer para ser aceita. Aqui, revisamos o conceito de instinto segundo a ciência, analisamos as três hipóteses de Kardec para o problema da sua origem, e propomos uma solução alternativa que satisfaz as condições apresentadas por Kardec e não conflita com a visão da Ciência. A solução pode ser resumida assim: o instinto é uma ação material dirigida por uma inteligência de procedência divina, mas não localizada no princípio inteligente. Sendo uma ação material, a inteligência do instinto viria das leis naturais que regem a estrutura e funcionamento da matéria. Sendo as leis naturais criações divinas, sua inteligência proviria da sabedoria do Criador. Dessa forma, o caráter inteligente do instinto fica preservado e relacionado à sabedoria divina, e sua atuação material e independente da vontade ou consciência do ser inteligente fica demonstrada.

Abstract: Instinct is a form of intelligence that acts at a material and unconscious level to provide the survival and maintenance of living beings, including humans. Often confused with a bad passion, the concept of instinct was analyzed by Kardec and considered to be a true divine providence in favor of the creatures. However, because instinct is a form of intelligence, its origin became a difficult point for Kardec who believed that no intelligence could come from pure matter. Kardec, then, proposed and analyzed three hypotheses for the origin of instinct without, however, pointing any one of them as the solution for the issue. Nevertheless, he presented the conditions that a solution to this problem has to satisfy in order to be acceptable and coherent with the Spiritist Doctrine. Here, we review the concept of instinct according to Science, analyze Kardec’s three hypotheses for the problem of its origin, and propose a new and alternative solution for the issue that satisfies the Kardec’s conditions and does not conflict with the view of Science. The solution can be summarized as follows: the instinct is a material action directed by an intelligence of divine origin, but this intelligence is not located in the intelligent principle of the Spiritism. Being a material action, the intelligence of the instinct comes from the natural laws that govern the structure and functioning of matter. Since natural laws are divine creations, their intelligence comes from the wisdom of the Creator. In this way, the intelligent character of instinct is preserved and related to divine wisdom, as well as its material action and independence from the creature’s will or consciousness is demonstrated.
