Expanding Boosters to District-Wide Program

The VPA Booster Club is looking to “cast a wider net” through-out the school district.

MSK is in the process of forming a VPA Booster Club and Tom Macisso is working with

Karen Matthews and Lisa Crimp and will advise/assist when needed. Other thoughts and

suggestions included the KHS Chamber Choir/Concert Choir performing at KES and

possibly other schools in the District and having Nate Menifield and Ben Potvin reach out

to other Band/Chorus teachers in the District to strategize suggestions, thoughts, and

ideas. The overall goal is for the VPA Boosters to have a presence in all schools in the

District.

VI. New Ideas

Jeni Kingston presented a great fundraising opportunity for next summer. She has

become friends with a Broadway performer/singer, Rex Smith. Rex has expressed an

interest in assisting us with our overall Arts program and fundraising! He is looking to

perform with kids from Elementary through High School who are interested in

performing. Jeni added that Rex is very excited about this and considers it a “win/win.”

His goal is to assist us in raising revenue while putting on a great performance and

helping the kids grow as artists. Nate and Ben spoke about coordinating with other music

and choral teachers in the district to get performers and firm up details. The tentative

date of the performance is the beginning of July 2012.

Thank you Cynthia for your leadership! Another great meeting! We all are looking

forward to another successful year!
